| Programme Note | This piece looks at some aspects of house-building. Firstly, the ground on which the house is to be built is surveyed. It is bleak and rough. Next, the foundations are excavated. There is much busyness and activity. Sometimes, rubble and dust is thrown into the air. It forms interesting patterns in the sky before falling back to earth. Thirdly, we see walls being built.(Is it possible, perhaps, that the bricks are not on quite straight?!) Then two windows are being formed. One is a lower, larger window and the other is higher and smaller. Out of the windows, we see the views. Finally, the roof is being constructed. Oh no! It is a house of cards! The house - and hopes - have fallen down! |
