| Programme Note | This is an addition to a series of 'Capriccii' designed to explore a variety of piano sonorities. So far there are three volumes, each containing three pieces. 'First Raptures' is a study in trills which will be included in volume no. 4. It takes its cue from the novels of Turgenev especially 'Torrents of Spring', 'First Love' and his fated love for Pauline Viardot. |
