| Programme Note | This restless piece exploits the use of different registers. The music moves from the extremities of register to the middle and back again. The music of the middle register gradually lengthens and becomes more lyrical. The outer registers remain skittish and more abstract. Towards the end of the piece, the middle register itself becomes more abstract, contrapuntal and complex rhythmically.
