| Programme Note | A simple initial idea informs this piece. The "anguished heart" is represented mainly by tonal music in the key of G minor. The "distant one" is represented mainly by serial techniques. The two "worlds" keep breaking in on each other. Towards the end, there is a slight "reconciliation" of these worlds. |
