| Programme Note | "Woods so still in frost I head the leaves touch ground after their gentle flight: a sigh, a footfall of the Spirit. I stand and feel his presence changing the season's trappings, wrapping things away for winter. I go on down the path to town. It is strewn with ash leaves, for all the world like tiny palms, fronds frosted to grey road. I think of another road palm strewn, and a town seen through tears. Traveller of bitter ways come and walk our roads also: we need your tears." |
