| Programme Note | The subtitle says 'cosmic' and not 'comic' so don't make the mistake of thinking of this piece as nothing more than slapstick and parody, although those elements are indeed prominent. Various Irish tunes are incorporated, including extensive reference to "Port na bPúcaí" in the final pages. For that tune we have borrowed, with permission, the very precise ornamentation used by the great 'box' player Tony McMahon. -Derek Ball, 2013 As well as the three performers, the piece requires audience participation and the presence of 'Acolytes' to facilitate that participation. Special handouts are to be given to Acolytes and audience. |
