| Notes | A setting by John Weeks of a poem, written in 1943 by Muriel McNair's sister Lysbeth Eadie. |
| Programme Note | Here is no Silk and Purple Here is no silk and purple, no gilded chamber here, but round the starlit cradle the dew drops sparkle clear. Here are no courtly minstrels to greet the newborn king, but 'neath the dark stone arches the little children sing. Lord, as we kneel before thee, no costly gifts we bring but lowly hearts and humble to greet our friend and king. |
