| Programme Note | The four quartets are : Allegro - Scherzoso - Allegro - Allegro. Quartets 1 & 4 are in sonata form with two man themes each. Quartet 3 is also in sonata form with the two main ideas concentrated in one theme. Quartet 2 is the earliest and is a scherzo and trio. |
