| Programme Note | This is my third attempt to write a piece called "Mettre de l'ambiance". the phrase means "to liven things up", while the music itself is "ambient", which of course does the opposite. In fact "Mettre de l'ambiance 2" was subtitled "Mettre de l'ambiance endormie', a logical paradox and a further twist to an already convoluted screw. The piece is a gift to Tom Prentice, the viola player's thinking man's viola player. |
