| Programme Note | Vyle Vilanie, like its title, is entirely anachronistic. Are these five pieces homages to some 16th century model, or self-pastiches of my composing style during a brief period of increased eccentricity in the early 1970s? I don't know. I wrote them for the one person I'm certain can fully appreciate them, musical antiquarian and viol player Andrew Robinson. |
