| Notes | For Catherine Farrell. |
| Programme Note | I wrote this piece for Catherine Farrell as a way of saying thankyou for choosing to play some of my other solo cello music. I know, it's a bit gloomy, but it can be regarded as a companion piece to the equally gloomy Gormenghast for unaccompanied cello. An interpolation is something added in, and in this piece the simple 12-note tune has transposed versions of itself interpolated, then in turn the interpolations have more interpolations interpolated, and so on. I could go on for ever! - but mercifully I stopped after only 11/2 minutes. |
