| Programme Note | The title is Irish Gaelic for "fluid machanics", and that translation is about all I can do to explain what this piece is about. It is the third in a planned series of 10 or 12 pieces for wind quintet which, when the last of them has been written, will have used up all of the 165 different chords of 4 notes it's possible to make within the western chromatic system. Played end-to-end they will have a duration of about an hour and a half. They all have Irish titles to match the name of the Gliondar Ensemble, for whom they are written. |
