| Notes | Written for Cecily Lock. |
| Programme Note | In 1999 I wrote a piece for large orchestra based on a series of 16 chords. While preparing the piece I visited Kleve where the pianist Cecily Lock acted as my interpreter, and in order to say thankyou I wrote her this small piece. It uses the same 16 chords as the much larger piece, here presented in quite a straightforward way and dressed up with a little pianistic decoration. The title connects with the idea of the original orchestral piece but in an elaborate play on words the elucidation of which would require the combined efforts of a philologist, taxonomist and historian! |
