| Notes | Slumber song for 4 part chorus of women's voices 1925 pub. by G Schirmer & Co. Recorded and performed by Frances M Lynch, produced by Herbie Clarke at Birnam Studios. This setting by the Scottish born composer Helen Hopekirk of a lullaby (anon) is really for a choir of mixed female voices - but we hope that this preview created with only one voice, will encourage real choirs to sing it! Frances is using this recording as part of her show at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Aug 5th - 27th 2017 "Scottish Superwomen of Science". It will help to illustrate the work of Glasgow Protozoologist, Muriel Robertson who worked in Uganda on the parasite that causes Sleeping Sickness. |
